Child Labor Lessons

Here is the link to part 1 READING. This link includes definitions from part 1 as well. Homework for today is the following:
  • Complete passage 2 questions (TOEFL and IEP)
  • Compose 5 (IEP) and 10 (TOEFL) vocabulary sentences using any ten words from today's lesson
  • Find an article on this topic and identify all pronouns and their antecedents (TOEFL only)
  • Read the homework passage and answer the questions (TOEFL and IEP)

Homework for today is as follows:
  • Complete paraphrasing exercises on active and passive voice (REQUIRED)
  • Complete listening passages 1 and 2 from the lesson and turn in the answers to the questions (REQUIRED)
  • Complete the comparative passage based on the Venn diagram from the class lectures (EXTRA CREDIT)
  • Compose five -ten vocabulary sentences using words from the lesson (EXTRA CREDIT)

  • Record yourself giving the persusive presentation from today's speaking exercise. Use the evaluation sheet in the lesson to self-evaluate your response.
  • Complete a t-graph on the pros and cons of child labor
  • Study for a vocabulary quiz on the words in section 14 of the textbook

  • Completion of the paraphrasing exercise on coordination and chronology
  • Completion of the essay with a counterargument: Should child labor be decriminalized?
On Tuesday, June 12, you will have a short vocabulary quiz on many of the words from parts 1 and 2. Here is a list of the words you must know.
