Foreign Adoption

 

Here is part 1 of the lesson READING with definitions. Homework for today includes:

1. Answer the questions for passages 2 and 3 and come to class prepared to discuss the answers.
2. Compose 10 (TOEFL) or 5 (IEP) vocabulary sentences using any ten of the words from class.
3. Study for vocabulary quiz on the words from 2BR02B
4. Study for a CGT vocabulary quiz section 2 (Thursday)

Keep in mind that the type of listening activity we did today in which you listen to a selection three times (once for subject and main idea, once for major points, and once for details) may be a great way for you to practice and improve listening skills.

 

Homework for today includes:

1. Complete the brainstorming exercises for the three prompts in the text. Make sure that for each prompt you have a position, three reasons, and a thesis with a point of view.
2. Complete draft of 15-20 survey questions for your final project on a political issue this election year. You will find the instructions here. Remember that if you do not do the final project, you will receive an incomplete for the block. These projects require a lot of work and a sophsticated skill set. We will work on this in steps. Please do not get behind.
3. Study for CGT vocabulary quiz section 2 (Thursday)

Prepare a brief spoken presentation on this topic from the perspective assigned in class

1. Create 10 "brainstorms" for any of the ten prompts from page 1 of the list of TOEFL writing prompts
2. Complete assigned exercises from elaboration practice handout
3. Study for vocabulary quiz on CGT section 2
