Please try to get a head start on the homework assignments for the next class.
1. Study for weekly vocabulary quiz on the new words learned in class this week. Here is a list of the vocabulary words that may be tested.
2. Compose first draft of persuasive essay on child labor. Check the lesson materials for specific instructions on how to structure the essay and check the blog later this weekend to view a sample persuasive essay.
3. Listen to the NPR podcast "China and Child Labor." Answer the questions on the class handout. You may start and stop the podcast as often as you like. Here is a link to the podcast. Please note that you no longer have to complete the assignment "Pakistan Child Labor" that is listed under homework in the class materials.
If you are behind on homework assignments, please use the long weekend to catch up. Please remember to label each assignment with your name and the date the homework was assigned. Homework more than two class period late is not accepted. If you cannot print your homework, you can e-mail it to gretchenesl@gmail.com
