Homework for lesson one includes: completing your six questions for passage 2 or 3, preparing the presentation, and composing five vocabulary sentences. Here is a link to lesson 2 with the definitions for the words covered in class. We did not complete the podcast, but feel free to listen and try to answer the remaining questions by following the link here. We also covered the rules regarding when to use the present or past participle following a linking verb. You can find a link to some online exercises to practice this here.
Homework includes revisions to returned essays, the expository essay, and to study for the vocabulary quiz on words from last week. You can find a link to the words that will be on the quiz here.
If you missed class and did not give a presentation on Thursday, you must do so next week. This is a 200 point project per student. Failing to give a presentation will significantly harm your final grade.

Sigmund Freud Lessons and Grammar Review
Welcome back to school. Yes, today was rough, but it's a new year and that means new possibilities!
Here is part 1 of the lesson on Freud. The first passage was really difficult, but I think the second passage allowed for a clearer understanding of the basic ideas behind his theories.
Here is part 2 of the lesson. You will find a link to the podcast here, which is a reading of Freud's actual essay on dream interpretation. Feel free to work on this for extra practice.
Finally, tomorrow we will have a comprehensive grammar quiz on the concepts we have been working on this block. Here is the study guide for the quiz. Please complete this for homework and come prepared to ask questions tomorrow. If you missed class, or need a little help, please refer to the following class handouts:
